As a church family, we will be celebrating our annual ‘Above & Beyond’ giving day on Sunday 23rd October 2022. The Elders and staff have together identified four areas for support this year, and it is our belief that improvement in these areas will continue to help the people of HumeRidge know, grow, show and share the grace and truth of Jesus.

Sundays provide an opportunity for great connection with others. Long after the service has ended, our foyer is still abuzz with conversation and encouragement. We love this about our church community! We are also aware that due to limited space, congestion can sometimes cause problems with movement and hearing. We are currently exploring options to expand the foyer space by removing some or all of the chapel wall. With the chapel also in need of maintenance, we are looking at a long-term fix for both areas that will best serve generations to come.
Our ministry to the refugee and migrant communities of Toowoomba continues in high demand. God’s love is being demonstrated practically and pastorally as those from foreign backgrounds connect with our church community through English Classes, Homework Help, Stumpys, Youth and Sunday services. Our support is both practical and pastoral as those new to our country, many with traumatic backgrounds, adjust to a new way of life. We are hoping to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of this vital ministry moving forward to ensure the care we provide to our new neighbours continues to draw them closer to Jesus.
Our Youth Ministry wraps up another huge year of fun-filled Fridays with its annual Youth Camp at Currimundi on the Sunshine Coast in early December. Youth Camp is an excellent opportunity for our teenagers to celebrate the year, their friends and the youth group as a whole. The all-important input sessions provide a launchpad for extended discussions about faith in Jesus, with many attending having little to no church experience beyond Youth on a Friday night. Your Above and Beyond contribution to this project will help ease the costs associated with transport, facility hire, and resources required for another awesome Youth Camp experience in 2022.
The Kkuza Children’s Foundation was established in 2019 in response to numerous challenges faced by families in the Butambla district of Uganda. The lack of schooling through poverty, distance and misconception leads to an array of unsafe activities affecting the health and well-being of many of the children, including begging, pick-pocketing and young marriages. Currently, children who are able to afford an education are required to travel to an Islamic school, where the quality of education is inadequate. The Kkuza Children’s foundation are seeking support to provide affordable, accessible and quality Christian education that will equip underprivileged children from low-income families. 50 children are already registered for this opportunity to attend school, with renovations to existing facilities to begin as soon as possible in readiness for the 2023 school year.
