Frequently Asked Questions about Youth Group

Here are some answers to common questions.

HumeRidge Youth is on Friday nights at HumeRidge Church of Christ (461 Hume Street, Toowoomba).

🔹5pm-7pm for grades 7-9

🔹7:15pm-9pm for grades 10-12

Please note Youth doesn’t run during the school holidays, and occasionally will finish up prior to the end of a school term, so please check our socials for program date advertising.

Each night is different, but you can expect fun games, music, engaging talks about a variety of topics relevant to the development and growth of our youth today, small group discussions, and plenty of time to hang out with friends.

We offer limited transport to and from Youth Group, and this fills up fast. We ask that you carefully consider if you need transport before making this request, or if there are options for family to drive you, or even a friend whose parents might pick you up on the way!

Not at all! Youth is a welcoming space for everyone! While we are a Christian organisation and ultimately our goal is to share the love of Jesus within our community, we do have a number of young people from various other religious backgrounds who are important and welcome members of Youth Group.

Gold coin donation each week.

We require a consent form to be filled out yearly for all those who attend Youth Group. You can find the digital form HERE https://humeridge.elvanto.com.au/form/b3509fa3-fad0-462a-b11f-333b9a6c313a

Alternatively, ask for a physical copy of the form on your first night.

Parents are not required to sign kids in and out, however we do ask that you ensure your child arrives and leaves safely. Kids must head to the sign in desk themselves on arrival.

Parents are welcome to come in and meet the leaders beforehand, particularly if you are new!

HumeRidge Youth is run by a small team of Youth Workers on staff, and a much larger team of volunteer leaders who are passionate about creating a fun and safe environment for teenagers to grow in their faith and friendships.

All our staff and volunteers (across all areas of the Church) are required to complete the Safe Ministry Check yearly. This involves training around caring for children and vulnerable people, as well as a screening check (including Blue Card screening).
